Jordin Sparks song "This Is My Now"
Although I did not see American Idol, my friend Vicki encouraged me to go to americanidol.com and listen to the winning song by Jordin Sparks.
I loved it and listened to it over and over. It is so encouraging!
I believe that God wants us to live in "the now" instead of our yesterdays. It's all we have (yesterday is gone, and tomorrow may never be). Regardless of our yesterdays, we can choose to live differently now, putting the past behind us, and by faith living fully the life God has for us today. We don't need to settle for less, when we can have so much more.
I feel that this song is also my testimony in many ways.
Here are the lyrics of Jordin Sparks song "This Is My Now":
There was a time I packed my dreams away.
Living in a shell, hiding from myself.
There was a time when I was so afraid.
I thought I'd reached the end,
But baby that was then
I am made of more than my yesterdays.
This is my now, and I am breathing the moment.
As I look around I can't believe the love I see.
My fears behind me, gone are the shadows and doubts
That was then, this is my now.
I had to decide, was I going to play it safe?
Or that somewhere deep inside,
I'm going to turn the tide and find the strength
To take that step of faith.
This is my now, and I am breathing the moment.
As I look around I can't believe the love I see.
My fears behind me, gone are the shadows and doubts
That was then, this is my now.
And I have the courage like never before, yeah.
I've settled for less now I'm ready for more,
Ready for more.
This is my now, and I am breathing in the moment.
As I look around I can't believe the love I see.
My fears behind me, gone are the shadows and doubts.
That was then, this is my now.
...and I can barely grasp the love I see and feel! God's love has brought so much healing and freedom to my life, that I too feel "This is my now", that I'm living the life God created me for, and have more peace and joy inside than ever before. It's taken some steps of faith, but He gives the courage, and I know He'll continue to for the future.

that really is a great song. thanks for posting the words, i hadn't read them before and i think i'm the world's worst at understanding words to songs... i don't know why. Hondenudiscore.
love ya!
Boy, you ARE the worst bro- it's Hundinudi, not Hondinudi. duh! =)
Dangit! That's the one song I felt pretty confident about the words!
I's that Oklahoma accent =)
A pastor wrote that song for AI, but I think he wanted to get a message across and then Jordin, a Christian, gets chosen to sing it! God is at work ALL around! Hollywood is already trying to change Jordin. She was quoted on the cover of some famous mag. (can't remember which one, but saw it at the gro. store)that she was NOT going to diet! YEA Jordin! Just pray she doesn't give in to being conformed to the world's image. I like her the way she is-sparkly, innocent and joyful!
